New Jewelry Finds

So this entry is going to be a little less involved in terms of styling, and more just about sharing something pretty with you. Over the past few weeks I've obtained far too many new items for my closet (as usual), but some of my absolute favorites are these four pieces of jewelry.

I'll start with the newest, which I purchased just this past Monday during my lunch break. Working by a Macy's is a dangerous lure, as you'll see since three of these four items are from there. This first piece drew me in from a distance, and when I encountered it up close I loved it even more.

It's an amazing combination of multiple current trends: lace detailing, faceted stones, and pastels. Yet the selling point for me was the fact that this necklace has the appearance of softness due to its antique lace cutout design, but it is actually made of some type of plastic or similar material. However, despite the hard makeup it still sits perfectly on the neck. I've already worn it with a neck-high chiffon burgundy button-up, and next will probably be a white tank with a fit and flare skirt.

And it was on sale at Macy's for around $9!

The second item is also a necklace, but this is a special piece in a very different way. The other Saturday my roommate and I passed an antique flea market on the way to brunch, and the second I saw this collar I was distraught. There was no way something so amazing and vintage was going to be affordable. The scalloped edge, the different sized pearls that were actually sewn instead of glued, the beautiful champagne color...yet I couldn't help but ask.

$15. Shut up and take my money please.

With Peter Pan collars so on trend right now, this couldn't have come around at a better time. I haven't worn it yet, but I think it could look great with something that goes up to the neck, making it actually look like a real collar, but I've also tried it on with an open neck and it looks stunning that way as well. Whatever I pair it with, it will certainly be a focal point.

Alright, on to the earrings! This first pair is a Steve Madden find. I have been obsessed with any and all faceted jewelry right now, so I saw these and immediately grabbed them. I love the pale colors and the added sparkle of a few rhinestones, but the best part is definitely the clear plastic that makes up the backing, letting all the pretty aspects stand on their own and really pop.

These were very on sale at Macy's for around $8.

Lastly, my girl Betsey Johnson enters the equation. My fashion tends to slide a little more to the edgy side, but I really can't resist a good dose of super femininity. These earrings are a perfect example of that. The gold dainty cutout backings, the soft colors, 3D flowers and gemstones and sparkles....yes! Romance for days. Mine, please and thank you.

I found these the same day as the other earrings, and I figured I was probably using up all of my good karma for the year (worth it). These too were on super sale for only around $8.

So there you have it! Four of my newest friends. There may not have been a final outfit reveal, but I hope looking at a lot of pretty things makes you as happy as it makes me.
